Sick Puppies are a three piece guitar-fueled rock band, hailing from Sydney, Australia. Consisting of Shimon Moore (guitar, vocals), Emma Anzai (bass), and Mark Goodwin (drums). They are currently based in Los Angeles, where they released their second album, “Dressed Up As Life” in April, 2007.
The follow-up of Dressed Up For Life, the new(ish) Tri-Polar album is similar at best. Nothing has really changed much, they still try to balance the hardcore and the soft stuff throughout the album. You can think the start of the album as a roller coaster: it rides up from "War" to the high-tempo'd "You're Going Down" and hits a decline with a softer song "Odd One" which ironically are back to back singles. It picks up after that for a short time.
Honestly, this album had some forgettable tracks and also had some really great ones, too. It's easy to find one stand-out track that makes this album, and that's "You're Going Down". It really is an intense and incredible song, probably the best by them. I can see this in any action-packed movie in the future unless it's already in one.
Favorite Tracks: You're Going Down, Odd One, White Balloons
Disliked Tracks: There's not really any horrible ones, they're around average or above but I'll put "Don't Walk Away" as one.
